Setting Up and Using the Plugin

1.0 Installing the Plug-In

  • Go to Tools > Plug-In Manager.
  • Click on the Install
  • Browse for the Barcode Generator .app file.
  • A confirmation window will appear with plugin information.
  • Click Install again to proceed.
  • A confirmation prompt appears,click Yes.
  • A success message appears once installation completes.

2.0 Assign Access Rights

  • Go to General Maintenance > User Maintenance.
  • Select a user (e.g., Admin) and click Edit.
  • In User Editor, go to Access Right.
  • Tick the Barcode Generator Plugin rights (Direct Access).

  • Click Save.

3.0 Generate Barcode Format

  • After access rights setup, Barcode Numbering Format Maintenance appears in the Barcode Generator
  • Go to Barcode > Barcode Numbering Format Maintenance.
  • In the screen, define:
    • Prefix Barcode No— company or product prefix.
    • Next Barcode No — next sequential number to use.
    • No of Digit — total digits in the barcode.
    • Sample — preview of the barcode.
  • Click Save to store settings.

4.0 Add Barcode Number to Item

  • Go to Stock > Stock Item Maintenance.
  • Select the item to assign a barcode and click Edit.
  • In Item Maintenance, go to the Other
  • Click the +icon next to Barcode.
  • The generated barcode number appears.
  • Click OK to save.

5.0 Edit Item From Purchase Document

(Note: Useful when barcodes are assigned during purchase entry)

  • Go to Purchase > Purchase Invoice or (Goods Received New / Cash Purchase).
  • Click Edit on the document.
  • Select an item in the detail list and click Edit Item.
  • In the Other tab, click the + icon next to Barcode.
  • The barcode number displays.
  • Click OK to save updates.

6.0 Quick Print Barcode

  • Go to Barcode Generator > Quick Print Bar Code.
  • Enter a Barcode number.
  • Enter the Qty you want to print.
  • Click Preview to see how labels will look.
  • Print the barcode labels.
