Introduction to Layout Customization
Firstly, the layout customization feature in AutoCount Accounting allows users to modify the interface according to their work preferences. In other words, you can move, resize, and rename various elements in the interface to optimize your workspace. Moreover, this feature is available in modules such as Stock Sales Inquiry and Purchase.
Accessing Layout Customization
You can access the layout customization options while creating or editing certain documents such as quotations or sales orders.
Steps to Access:
- Firstly, open a module like Quotation.
- Secondly, right-click on any blank space within the module window.
- Thirdly, select the option labeled Customize Layout from the context menu.

This will open the Layout Editor, where you can begin customizing the interface.
Using the Layout Editor
The Layout Editor allows users to adjust various elements of the interface. Some of the main features include:
1. Drag & Drop Functionality
- Move different sections of the layout to reposition them.

This will open the Layout Editor, where you can begin customizing the interface.
2. Hidden Items Tab
- Use this tab to manage which fields or sections are visible in the interface. You can drag items from here to make them appear on the layout.

3. Resizing Elements
- Resize windows or sections by dragging their edges.

4. Renaming Labels
- You can rename labels or field names for clarity.

5. Font and Background Customization
- Change the text font, color, or background color for better visibility or to match your style preferences.

Layout Tree View
For more advanced customization, the Layout Tree View is available within the Layout Editor.

- Secondly, rename elements directly from the tree.
- Thirdly, modify properties like size, spacing, and position of elements.
- After that, adjust the background color, font style, and font size for each element.

Saving and Loading Layouts
Once you have customized the layout, you can save it for future use.
1. Save Layout
- Firstly, after making your desired changes, click the Save Layout button within the Layout Editor.
- In addition, you can name the layout and save it for future use.


2. Load Layout
- To apply a saved layout, use the Load Layout option.
- After that, select from the list of saved layouts available in the system or load a layout from your local computer.

Layout Manager
The Layout Manager is a tool that helps you organize and manage all saved layouts. In addition, it also allows you to assign specific layouts to users. Thus, ensuring consistency across different workstations.

- Secondly, select the Column Chooser option.

- Thirdly, a customization window will appear, where you can drag and drop columns to hide or display them

Understanding the Layout Design Manager
To manage your layouts across different modules, AutoCount provides the Layout Design Manager.
Accessing the Layout Design Manager
- Firstly, navigate to Tools > Layout Design Manager.
- After that, this will open a window where you can manage all saved layouts for different modules.

Save new layouts or overwrite existing ones.
Managing Access Rights for Layout Designer
Administrators can control which users have access to the Layout Designer through Access Rights Maintenance.
How to Set Access Rights
- Firstly, go to General Maintenance > Access Rights Maintenance.

- Secondly, search for “Layout” in the search bar.
- After that, you will see a list of access controls related to the Layout Designer.

Next, by modifying these access rights, you can specify who has the ability to Show, Open, or Delete the Layout Designer.
Restricting Access
If you do not want certain users to modify layouts, you can remove their access. As a result, these users will receive an “Access Denied” message if they attempt to open the Layout Designer.


Resetting Layout to Default
If you need to restore the layout to its original settings, the Reset Layout option is available.
Steps to Reset
- Firstly, open the Layout Editor.
- Secondly, click the Reset Layout button
This will return all elements to their default positions, removing any customizations you’ve applied.
